The lack of new snow in Austria has postponed the planned opening of a number of resorts. The season has now started in France with Val d’Isere, Tignes and Val Thorens all open for skiing. In Switzerland Andermatt is now open at the weekends and Engleberg is open 7 days a week. Skiing in Germany is limited to Garmisch at the moment. Cervinia and Val Senales are still the only resorts open in Italy, with firm cover on the glaciers. Over in Norway the conditions are holding well at most of the resorts but more snow is needed. The snow has packed down well in Sweden giving some good skiing on the open areas.

Snow could fall at the Canadian resorts on Monday and Tuesday but the low temperatures experienced over the weekend look set remain throughout the week.

A lack of snowfall across Austria has seen the planned opening dates of many Austrian resorts pushed back into December. Skiing at Hintertux (0/80cm) is still only possible down to the mid-station on the glacier with varied cover on-piste. Similarly the lower runs at Kaprun (14/83cm) are also closed but conditions at the top remain good. Kaunertal (15/30cm) offers 30km of groomed runs with 7 out of 8 lifts open. Neustift (10/50cm) has 17 out of 24 lifts open with good conditions at the top. The runs at the bottom remain closed. Obergurgl (6/24cm) has clear sunny skies. Obertauern (40/60cm) opened four more lifts meaning 9 out of its 26 lifts are open. Pitztal (50/80cm) is running 6 out of 7 lifts but the warm sunny weather means piste conditions at the bottom are wet. The only skiing available at Schladming (0/20cm) is on the Reiteralm Mountain or on the Dachstein Glacier. With only 2 out of 46 lifts in operation the area is desperately in need of some snow. Solden (5/50cm) continues to enjoy the snow that fell last week opening another lift to take the total to 10 out of 35. Fieberbrunn, Loferer Alm, Seefeld, St. Anton and Zell am See were all meant to open over the weekend but the lack of snow and warm weather has pushed the back these opening dates.

 
  France  
 
The winter season in France got underway at the weekend at Val d’Isere 5/40cm), Tignes (30/45cm) and Val Thorens (15/35cm). Val Thorens opened on Friday 24th November as hoped and the best skiing can be found on the upper pistes which they are reporting as being velvet. Over at the Espace Killy the Tignes/Val d’Isere link is not open as yet but fair skiing can be found at both resorts. At Val d’Isere it is not possible to ski down to the resort at the moment but they have 9 runs and 10 lifts open as of Monday. Over the mountain in Tignes the best skiing can be found on the Grande Motte glacier where hard and fast skiing is the order of the day.

в австрии ожидался снег в среду-четверг, но прогноз облажался..
ожидается снегопад в эти выходные по всей австрии.
лаплань планирует открыть верхние трассы 10го, затем добавят ещё зоны катания 17го и окончательное открытие курорта 23го..
с антоновкой пока не понятно.. но судя по всему снега пока нет... :cry:
хороший снег выпал в Alpe d’Huez (20/95cm) и Val Thorens (25/45cm) ...

Так что к нашему приезду хоть какой, а снег будет.

прошедшая неделя была тёплая..
прогноз на следующую неутешителен.. :cry:

Блин, а что со снегом-то? Через 2.5 недели в Андорру лететь, а снега мало совсем, только 19 трасс открыто. Прогноз тоже неутешительный, мороз, но без осадков. Неужели придется неделю по нескольким склонам кататься?!! :idea:

А в Андорре снег был сегодня ночью, но немного. Сегодня вечером обещают до 6 инчей, посмотрим...

И морозец есть -10, не растает сразу.

Ох. Сколько бы ни падало, лишь бы не таяло.
А то и правда, придётся переквалифицироваться в альпинисты.
